Office based jobs involving long periods without changing position can cause a number of symptoms such as neck, back and arm problems.  More manual and physical work can lead to other problems such as muscle strains or ‘pulls’.  Symptoms that may be work related can have a negative impact on an employee’s physical health, job satisfaction and may lead to unwanted time off.  Where possible, steps should be taken to highlight potential causes of these problems and prevent them from happening in the first place.
